Political Tensions Rise Over Governor's Resignation Demand

The head of the Unión por la Patria bloc, Germán Martínez, and the Buenos Aires ministers Juan Martín Mena and Gabriel Katopodis expressed their repudiation towards President Javier Milei for requesting the resignation of Governor Axel Kicillof following the murder of the minor Kim Gómez.

In this context, the Minister of Justice and Human Rights of the province of Buenos Aires, Juan Martín Mena, dismissed Milei's request, stating that he "uses the pain of the victims to do politics." In radio statements, Mena expressed his indignation and emphasized the need for security funds that the national government has not provided.

For his part, Germán Martínez, the head of the deputies' bloc of Unión por la Patria, vehemently rejected Milei's request, labeling it as an aggression not only towards Kicillof but towards all governors, regardless of their political affiliation.

Gabriel Katopodis, another Buenos Aires minister, characterized Milei as a "fraudulent President" who manipulates people's suffering for political gain, highlighting Governor Kicillof's response in expressing solidarity with the victims and committing to strengthen security policies.

Finally, Deputy Victoria Tolosa Paz harshly criticized Milei, urging him to return the 750 billion pesos allocated to the Security Fund that she claims the president illegally withheld. Tolosa Paz stressed the importance of collaboration between different levels of government to address the issue of insecurity.
